The #DONTgLITTER campaign was created by me after noticing how much glitter, or a better term for it, microplastics, were being used in graduation photos. Microplastics never go away and the plastic that was first created in 1907 still exists to this day! Glitter and confetti are used in graduation photos to make them more "beautiful" and "exciting" but they are such an unnecessary by product of consumerism made popular by influencers. These plastics are left bebind in our beautiful ecosystems and wreck havoc.
In this campaign I have offered four different and sustainable alternatives to glitter and confetti: bubbles, flower petals, props, and using your already beautiful surroundings!
Scroll down to see the damage of confetti left behind by people at FGCU that dates back to April 2018. Please be sustainable, mindful, and #DONTgLITTER
